Gameloft Releases Trailer for World of Warcraft Inspired ‘Order & Chaos Online’ for iPhone & iPad

Gameloft released a teaser trailer today for their next upcoming title, Order & Chaos Online, and the developer will be borrowing from one of the most successful PC games of all time – World of Warcraft.

When it comes to mobile games that “borrow” from successful console or PC games,Gameloft has got to be the company with not only the most games that “borrow” from successful console or PC games, but they’re also the best at delivering that core experience onto a mobile platform better than any other company. They released a teaser trailer today for their next upcoming title, Order & Chaos Online, and the developer will be borrowing from one of the most successful PC games of all time – World of Warcraft.

As you’ll see in the teaser below, the game is the spitting image of World of Warcraft. The two factions are called Order and Chaos and it looks like you can create characters that resemble the Human, Night Elf, Orc, and Undead races in World of Warcraft. It also looks like players will be able to create Warrior, Mage, and Rogue classes. What the races will be called, as well as confirmation on their individual classes and perks, is yet unknown.

The trailer also shows characters will be able to level up to level 60, which is the first level cap World of Warcraft had when it was released. This indicates to me that iOS players can expect a very long experience with the game. Either that, or Gameloft might make it really easy to attain a level 60 character since this game will be played on mobile devices. You’ll also be able to form a party of at least 4 characters to adventure with. Hopefully there will be some kind of communication tool to plan strategies or talk about stuff that’s going on IRL.

I’m curious to see how Gameloft goes about delivering an MMO experience onto the iPhone & iPad, especially when it comes to subscription fees. If I had to make a guess, I’d say that Order & Chaso Online will adopt a freemium model that recent Gameloft games has adopted. Maybe Gameloft will allow players to level up to level 5 for free, but then charge to continue playing the game past that level. This is all, of course, speculation on my part since no other information besides the teaser trailer has been released at this time.
