Spotify For iPad Avilable Now

Finally, Spotify for iPad is here.

The official iPad app of Spotify has come to fruition nearly a year after the release of Spotify for iPhone, and long after its music streaming rivals Rdio, Mog, and Deezer released their own iPad apps. A result of the original iPhone app’s universalization rather than a separate iPad app, Spotify for iPad is duly optimized for the new iPad’s Retina display. A clear inspiration of the app is the official Twitter for iPad app, as evidenced by their very similar interfaces. As in Twitter for iPad, Spotify for iPad employs a left navigation bar and a main window pane flushed to the right, with the ability to accumulate additional panes.

As noted by The Next Web, the app requires a premium subscription to be fully functional, just like other Spotify mobile apps. But it is available in the App Store for free. Are you glad it has finally arrived? Or have you come to be content with simply running the iPhone app on your iPad at 2x magnification, as flaunted in the tongue-in-cheek video below?
